Levels show signs of peaking at Crowhurst Bridge and Etchingham, but will continue to rise gradually at Robertsbridge and Bodiam into Monday evening. In all locations, levels could rise yet further on Tuesday morning as a result of any additional rainfall on Monday night. This Flood Alert will remain in force overnight tonight, Thursday 3 November 2022 and into tomorrow, Friday 4 November 2022. The Rother remains high following the heavy rain earlier on Thursday. The river level is now receding steadily upstream of Etchingham and the peak reached Etchingham around 8pm. The level is high in Robertsbridge but will peak about 10pm Thursday evening. The peaks at Bodiam and Newenden will be in the early hours of Friday morning.
There will be further heavy showers overnight tonight and these will keep river levels high in all locations. Any additional flood impacts should be confined to fields, footpaths and roads but showers could also generate localised surface water flooding.

Storm Dennis is forecast to bring heavy rainfall from 2pm today, Saturday 15 February, through to Sunday evening, 16 February. This will cause river levels to significantly rise again and cause further flooding of low lying land and farmland between Crowhurst Bridge and Robertsbridge from 8pm this evening, Saturday 15 February. However, flooding of low lying land and farmland is possible this evening and overnight into Saturday morning, 15 February. Friday is expected to remain largely dry although heavy rain from Storm Dennis will see further impacts from Saturday.
